General Description of The Guardian HIE Platform
The program solutions offered by Guardian Health Services to healthcare organizations are driven by a state-of-the-art, cloud-based, and proprietary Health Information Exchange (HIE) IT platform. This IT platform, referred to as GUARDIAN, connects providers and enables access to patient-centric clinical information on demand at the point of care, and enables health information to be exchanged electronically between disparate healthcare information entities and systems while ensuringinformation integrity. The Interoperability and exchange interfaces provided by the Guardian platform reflect both the meaning and functionality of the concept of clinical integration. The platform:
- Enables providers to work together to exchange, discuss and track patient information, strengthening relationships and revenue streams, leading to improved operational efficiencies and timely and meaningful clinical integration and continuity of care.
- Acts as a centralized clinical data consolidator, data integrator, data contributor and data source for patients, providers, healthcare organizations, and national and state HIEs.
- Clinically integrates all elements of the care continuum (e.g., clinical EHR data via CCDA, FHIR formats and DSM; lab data via HL7 format; radiology dicom images; reports using Middleware Engines; other HIEs using standard HIE protocols, claims data engine from multiple Payors, and eHealth National HIE data).
Unlike many healthcare directed IT platforms, the Guardian platform was iteratively built through dedicated interaction between IT and clinical experts, resulting in a platform that is reality based and highly functional.
